New SLP joining Poynton-Marsh Speech Services

Candida Giardina, SLP,  has joined Poynton-Marsh Speech Services. Candy brings extensive experience in the evaluation and treatment of pediatric speech and language impairments. Michele Poynton-Marsh earns Certification in Brain Injury Specializaiton

Michele Poynton-Marsh, MA, CCC/SLP has earned the Certification of Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) credential. Requirements for the certification include completing a minimum number of contact hours with individuals diagnosed with brain injury, participation in an 8 hour training course and passing the examination. 

Sussex County Dystonia Support Group to Begin in August

A new support group is being offered at Poynton-Marsh Speech Services.

Sussex County Dystonia Support Group meets on a quarterly basis at 1632 Savannah Road, Suite 5, Lewes. The first meeting will be Thursday, August 4, 2016. Individuals and families are invited to participate in this free meeting.  Call (302) 644-1220 with questions.

Swallowing Support Group

A new support group for individuals facing swallowing disorders or dysphagia will be held on the fourth Thursday of every month from 2:00 to 3:00 pm starting February 25, 2016. Caregivers are welcomed to attend. Please call Michele at 302-644-1220 for additional information.

Speech, language and cognitive screenings for May is Better Hearing and Speech Month

In order to recognize May is Better Hearing and Speech Month, Poynton-Marsh Speech Services will be offering complimentary screenings for speech, language and cognition. Please call the office, (302) 644-1220 to schedule your appointment.

April is Parkinson's Awareness month

April is Parkinson's Awareness month. If you or a loved one has PD and are experiencing low speech volume, imprecise speech and/or swallowing difficulty, you might benefit from Speech-Language Pathology service. Please discuss your concerns with your primary care physician or neurologist.
